Become a Grassroots Partner
“My perspective of the world has greatly changed. And my view of my place in it has changed even more. My eyes have opened to what is actually happening in the world. I now realize how passionate about social justice I am and my view of my place in the world has greatly expanded. I have the power to change the things I care about.” -SHARE 2010 Delegate
At a time in which our world often limits communication to sound bytes and individuals become numbers, SHARE invites you to explore this life-changing relationship. For the past thirty years, partnerships between North American and Salvadoran communities have been the wind in the sails of a movement to build justice and dignity among the impoverished majority in El Salvador. We hope you will join us on this amazing journey! Here’s how:
Step 1: Get Informed
Read more about Grassroots Partnerships. Contact SHARE at email@example.com to share ideas and begin the exploration process.
Download our SHARE Sistering Partnerships Discernment Guide or SHARE Youth Partnerships Discernment Guide, learn more about El Salvador and our Community Development Projects, or get in touch with existing Grassroots Sisters or Youth Partners to hear about their experience.
Step 2: Get your Community Involved
Get other people at your school, church, or group excited about this opportunity. Some ideas include:
- Invite a SHARE Grassroots Partner or staff member to present and answer questions about their experiences
- Host a speaker to talk about El Salvador
- Show a movie about El Salvador
- Hold a Salvadoran cultural event, complete with typical food and music!
Come to El Salvador on an exploratory delegation with SHARE to establish ties with a new partner. Click here for more information!
Step 4: Make a Decision
Once you have visited El Salvador, discuss and reflect with your group. When you have come to a decision, formalize your relationship with SHARE and your sistering region and celebrate this new beginning sure to be filled with joy, hard work and adventure.
