The ongoing commitment of our many grassroots sisters has been invaluable part of SHARE’s work empowering poor and marginalized Salvadoran communities over the past 30 years. Thank you for all that you do!

Detroit Sister Community/St. John Fisher, Auburn Hills, MI
Together, the Detroit Sister Community and St. John Fisher support SHARE projects in Chalatenango with the CCR and have accompanied the community Ignacio Ellacuría for decades.  The Detroit Sister Community and St. John Fisher organize education and fundraising events during the Lenten period and are strong supporters of other SHARE activities.

Good Shepherd Parish, Shawnee, KS
Good Shepherd has accompanied the community of the same name, Buen Pastor, since before their repopulation in 1987. Buen Pastor is a founding community of UCRES, and Good Shepherd currently supports  regional development projects in that region. Good Shepherd organizes educational events around major anniversaries every year, including an invitation for a prominent member of the Salvadoran Catholic Church community for yearly Romero celebrations.

Friends of El Salvador Mid-Michigan/Faith Weavers, Mt. Pleasant, MI
Faith Weavers of St. Mary and the Friends of El Salvador Committee accompany the people of El Salvador through delegations and direct support for their sister community, Miramar.  Their faithful support for the CRIPDES San Vicente youth development and high school scholarship program help make this project possible.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, New Berlin, WI
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has been very generous with time and resources in supporting SHARE.  They regularly hosts tours and send delegations and are major supporters of UCRES regional projects and their sistering community, Rutilio Grande.

Good Shepherd Parish, Menomonee Falls, WI
Good Shepherd Parish is sistered with the historic community Ellacuría, named after the martyred Jesuit, in Chalatenango.  The parish sends delegations to El Salvador and supports women’s and youth projects in the CCR.

St. Sebastian Church, Milwaukee, WI
St. Sebastian is sistered with the community Teosinte in the CCR. They invite community members to Milwaukee, sell artisan crafts made by the community, and visit El Salvador every few years, while supporting regional development projects.

St. John Francis Regis, Kansas City, MO
St. Regis is sistered with the community Ita Maura, named after two of the US Churchwomen killed in 1980. They support regional projects in UCRES.

Christ the King Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill, CA
Christ the King is a long-term supporter of regional women’s empowerment projects in CRIPDES San Vicente.

University Lutheran Chapel, Berkeley, CA
Not only does ULC host the SHARE National office, but they are active in advocacy and support regional projects in CRIPDES San Vicente. Pastor Jeff Johnson currently sits on the SHARE Board of Directors.

Paulist Center, Boston, MA
The Paulist Center accompanies SHARE and the community of Hacienda Vieja, part of the CCR. The Paulist Center committee has a table once a month after service with fair trade coffee, artisan goods and information about El Salvador.  Read a reflection written by a Paulist Center member and delegate from the 2010 Romero Anniversary Delegation.

Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church and Maryland Presbyterian Church
These two Baltimore-area churches are sistered with the urban parish of Maria Madre de los Pobres.  They are very active in advocacy and outreach activities. St. Patrick’s Church, Seattle, WA
St. Patrick’s is sistered with Nueva Trinidad, in the CCR region. With a youth focus, St Pats places emphasis on social justice locally and abroad.

St. Andrew’s by the Bay, Annapolis, MD
St. Andrew’s accompanies the urban parish of San Francisco de Asis in Mejicanos.  Young members of the parish have participated in SHARE youth delegations.

St. Mary of the Assumption, Baltimore, MD
St. Mary is a quiet but strong supporter of SHARE’s work and celebrates their sister community, Nueva Trinidad, every week at Mass during the Prayers of the Faithful.

Visitation Parish, Kansas City, MO
Visitation is sistered with urban parish María Madre de los Pobres.  They send a yearly medical delegation, in which they provide medical assistance to the parishioners at Maria Madre.
