Anabell López
Administrative and Project Assistant
Anabell López has worked with SHARE since January of 2015. As the administrative and project assistant, she manages all of the administrative tasks of the El Salvador office, as well as assists with the management of the projects, SHARE funds.
Born on June 14, 1988, in Managua, Nicaragua, she and her family spent the 1980s as refugees in Nicaragua due to the civil war in El Salvador. Anabell and her family returned to El Salvador on March 15, 1991, to the repopulated community of Rutilio Grande as part of the Going Home campaign that SHARE supported to help refugees return to their homes. When she was 12, Anabell received a scholarship from her community and SHARE to attend high school. She then went on to continue her studies in San Salvador. She is currently completing her Businesses Administration degree at the University of El Salvador.
Anabell inherited the interest for social justice and solidarity work from her parents since they were involved in social movements; her mother was the youth and mental health projects coordinator for UCRES for many years. Despite moving to San Salvador, Anabell was very committed to her community and UCRES work and continued to participate in different workshops around issues of gender, self-esteem, and youth leadership, as well as youth initiatives such as youth radio, vegetable gardens, and chicken farms. Before Anabell came to SHARE, she did volunteer work for SHARE for one year. She also collaborated in the logistics of an Electoral Observation Delegation that SHARE organized.
Anabell likes hanging out with her friends, going to the movies, dancing, reading good books in both English and Spanish, and looking after her younger siblings.
